If you recall, a few weeks ago I was asking about where I could find a widgy bar. Well, our very own Jimmie (tolly71 here at BF) was more then kind enough to get one for me - THANKS Jimmie!!!. So after I got it I had to wrap it, and here it is:

First time I did a paracord wrap, and IMHO it came out quite good . The grip on the widgy improved 100%, since I used a bit more elaborated weave pattern. After I did it Jimmie me told that some people gut the paracord, removing the central white strands before wrapping. But then I don't think the grip would be as good, because without the central strands the paracord would be slimmer. It sure would have been easier to wrap - because of this more intricate pattern the last loops were quite tough to do, but this way it came out "meatier", and I prefer the extra bulk when pushing or pulling hard on the handle.

What do you guys think?

Nice wrap:thumbup:

I love my widgy bar. It hangs on my keys and has served admirably as a thumbtack remover, bottle opener, and men's room stall unlocker (there's some heathenistic little turd(s) in this town who gets a kick out of locking the stall door and then crawling out under. Widgy bar to the rescue!)

Looks pretty good. I've been meaning to pick up one of those, but ever since I saw the Gerber Shard, I might just end up going with one of those instead. Rarely do my needs for prying go further than opening cans and bottles now and again.

The Shard looks good, but I'm afraid it's too short to work as a real pry bar - not enough handle to apply leverage. The widgy makes a good compromise between size and functionality.

I considered the smaller ones, like the Micro and Pico, but I was afraid that they were too small to actually use as a pry bar. How do you like them?
