I've been looking at the Case 6344 Medium Stockman in CV, and I was curious how thick it is compared to other stockmen models, such as the Buck 301, or Schrade 34OT or Schrade 8OT. Thanks for any info.

I have a 2007 "Red Shield" 5344 SS (stag handles). At the bolster, the width is about 0.40" (13/32"). Length is 3-1/4". Compare this to my 8OT, which measures ~1/2" (0.52") at the bolster, and 3-7/8" length.

I'll take a side-by-side pic today, and post it here.

Here are some pics, comparing size of the Case 5344 SS to the Schrade 8OT (please pardon my lint ):

Thanks for the pics. I was thinking the 6344 was three springs wide, so it's nice to know it isn't much bigger than a small texas jack.

My first impression, when I bought mine, was that it was much smaller than I'd assumed. At the time, it was erroneously advertised on vendor sites, and even on Case's own site, as being bigger than the actual size. I think they listed it at 3-3/8" or 3-1/2" closed length. So it was all-the-more surprising when I first held it in-hand. Very compact, and would just about disappear in the bottom of a pocket. Still a nice knife.
