Something wierd is going on here. Three different times today I went to look at W&C and it wasn't there. So I went to User CP and logged in. Then an hour later the same thing happened. I'd post this in service and support, but I can't find that either, even after logging in, yet again?

Any ideas?

You have a cookie problem. That's how Bladeforums recognizes you, by your cookies, and when your cookies get deleted or corrupted Bladeforums can't tell who you are and asks you to log in.

I'll move this thread to Service & Support where Spark will see it -- you can get to that forum if you're logged in, I'm sure of that much, and anyway you can still get to this thread by the link I'll leave in Community Center.

(Spark, shouldn't people who aren't logged in be able to get to Service & Support? If it's set so they can't that seems like a bad idea....)

Jmxcpter, have you changed your security settings recently? Set the options in your browser to restrict cookies, or installed a firewall or ad blocker or something? Make sure www.bladeforums.com is in your trusted zone -- you don't need to put any restrictions on this website at all; we don't have banner ads or popups or spyware or anything you would want to restrict.

P.S. You do know Service & Support is in the General section, don't you? If you look in the Community section you won't find it....

I leave my security settings wide open. There shouldn't be any cookie issues. I should also mention that it was only happening on my Apple laptop from work. I have no problem from home. It's wierd as I've hung out on BFC plenty of times from my laptop when I'm on the road in a hotel room with no problem. Maybe a couple times in the office too...:)

I find it very strange as I'm a pretty advanced user and don't usually have computer problems. I build computers and networks for fun and do charity IT work on the weekends. I'll even be spending all day Thursday in an IP class, although I fear it'll just be rehashing crap I already know.

At least everything works fine from this machine at home.

OK, now it's happening on my home (Win XP) computer too. Can my cookie file on BFC itself be corrupted?

Go to your user control panel, click "edit options" and make sure "Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies)" and "Browse board with cookies?" are both checked YES. Then delete your old cookies, delete your browser caches, and restart your browser (at least -- you might have to restart Windows).

If you have cookies enabled, then it's something else in your cookie file that's corrupting the BFC one. Clear all of your cookies and log back in. That should take care of it. If it doesn't, SHUT DOWN YOUR BROWSER AND REBOOT. When you come back up, delete the cookies.txt file and remove from the recycle bin. Reboot again, and log in. Everything should be fine.
