Some of you know how ornery she can be, what with insisting that I buy knives I like at Blade and that kind of stuff. But she really put her foot down this time.

Kim is moving into an independent living facility early in November, something she has long wanted to do.
I was discussing the financing with the wife, and said that we might have to supplement Kim's Social Security in order to make it happen. Kathy said ok, but that I absolutely must, before I get too old, schedule some of those fishing and hunting trips I had been putting off while being Kim's nanny.

And that's what it has been like for 40+ years now, living with a difficult woman who absolutely refuses to learn how to clean fish.

That's awesome on the upcoming fishing and hunting trips! Good luck to Kim as well and I hope for all the best for the future :)

Really glad to hear it's working out for Kim, and I hope you and your wife both get to enjoy some rec time together (and separately :) ). I know it will be lonely without Kim in the house, too, but hopefully she's nearby.

Now get busy scheduling those hunting and fishing trips--no rest for the weary. :D

All the best,
Will

Congrats. I don't know the whole back story, but it sounds like this arrangement will be beneficial to everyone. Freedom and independence are a big part of life (as much as can be experienced in any given situation).

Just like a wife always tryin' to keep a good man down... ;););) :D

So...Where are ya going on your first trip? :)
Congrats, BTW on a long & happy marriage! ...She sure sound like a keeper! :):)

Also, glad to hear that Kim is ready to spread her wings and leave the nest to create her own. I think that she's quite the inspiration for us all...And so are you both!

Mike--this is incredibly good news! Kim will do well, largely because of the care you both have taken and the time you have spent. And I can't blame your wife, I don't want to learn to clean fish, either! :barf:

Tell my little sister she ROCKS!!! for me!

(And so do you and the Mrs!)

I feel for ya Brother........try and keep your head up in these difficult times.

Try not to let her see you having too much fun:D

She is a great lady. Maybe I'll run into you on Smith Lake. Did Kim get the Game Warden at Blade?

Apparently not, since I have not seen a new one around here.

Kim will not be allowed to take her knives to the independent living facility. This is too bad, as she was never without her Camilius Heat and a small pushdagger on her keyring. When I started to bed last night, there was a large pile of knives on the bed, including at least a dozen I didn't know she had. She is turning them over to me for safekeeping, I suppose.

I am happy for you and the whole family:thumbup:

Let me know when you want to just get away. I have a key to this cabin way back in the woods:cool:

Give Kim our best. I am glad she is working harder on being independent. She is always one of my favorite people to visit with at Blade.
