I've never seen this one from case, I don't know if I would consider it a traditional as they're really blending the lines of it. I didn't know what the think when I got it, kind of a "what is this thing" as it's so much different that what I think of case. I'm warming up to it. If nothing else, it's pretty unique and it was certainly a surprise to open.

Pretty darn decent for a 1st dad's day present though

Awesome! I’ve been eyeing those Kickstarts myself. It’s assisted, correct? CASE can certainly make some nice knives. Have a few myself and love them. That blue bone looks great. Congrats!

It is assisted, which is really strange to me at first glance and surprised me when I opened it. It hits pretty hard, a lot better than a CS swift and I would even say better than the kershaw speedsafes I've tried and had. Part of that may be that it is a little sticky getting it to "let loose" to start the assist. The detent is pretty strong and looking at it, it almost looks like it has a little nub keeping it closed, like a really weak backlock. There's a little catch on the bottom of the blade tang where the spring bar grabs. I suppose this makes it more reassuring that it's not going to come open in the pocket, though I still think I'm going to look at a belt pouch for it.

I may have found where she go the color idea from, thought she stated she picked it just because she likes blue and was pretty. Works for me too.
