just started collecting a couple months ago and my wife has absolutely no interest and hates the amount of money i spend on my folders($100-150 for now) so i tell her i'm gonna get a auto at the gun/knife show and she says big-whoop, this is my first so she has never seen an automatic. i go and pick-up a mini reflex for $110 and get back and say i got my new toy and she says so what....lol. i say atleast try to be more enthusiastic, so she says ok let's see it. one push of the button and she says WOW COOL! now all of a sudden she says she may need one as she cuts open boxes and such at work! lmao, so now i have to go back with her and helped her pick out a mt mini socom for $155, killer deal! lmho, it's a great knife but my mini reflex is faster! but for 155 i couldn't say no to a mt! and now she doesn't have a problem for the 155 dollar price tag! any similar situations?

I wish I had that problem. My wife has no interest at all in knives.I've brought her to gun and knife shows hoping she'll spot something that catches her eye,but its hopeless. She just doesn't have interest in knives.OH well

I was at the same show that Shawn was at yesterday. After taking delivery of a pair of Daltons, I was trying to decide between a Lefty Sebenza, a Nemesis, and a Dalton Ranger. My wife said "You might as well get all three, you'll get them eventually anyway."

Tim's and Don's (the dealers) mouths nearly hit the floor.
My wife has not confiscated any of my autos yet, but it was a close call when she saw the BM 1000 auto spike.

mark, i wish my wife was at your wifes level! it's getting better now that she has some interest though, wish me luck.

I'm only in high school, but I still have to deal with my family telling me, "your wasting money," "one knife should be enough," etc. I wish they were even a little understanding, but so far I get hassled every time I mention knives or knife related topics. Will it ever end?

don't feel bad soloman, it was the same way for me with my wife, now i can actually talk about it with her and instead of getting irritated she discusses it, it's way too weird for now cause i'm not used to it so if you ever covince any of them be prepared for that....lol. good luck

Soloman - no, it never ends. There will always be someone who will fail to understand. Luckily, you've got fellow sufferers here

Shawn - be careful! Soon you'll find you don't have money left for your knives

trevor, i know! but it's still worth it as the more things we can enjoy together the better!

Make room on the Great Wife pedestal for one more. My wife saw an article on the Sebenza (in the computer technology section of the newspaper, of all places) and said, "why don't you get one of these?" The money order goes out tomorrow.
