thank you Ken - but I guess I have an advantage of watching a LOT of knives being made in our shop - I have a lot to learn - but what FUN!!

She didnt grind those lines Dustin. They picked up the blade at SMKW and she put a handle on it. Great Job BTW!!! Wonderful Start!!!:D

Thanks for clarifying that for me Jason - did not realize he thought I did the grinding. I would love to be able to do that already but I am just learning how to use the machines - still a bit scared of most of them - when cutting the malachite for the handles, I had to hold my breath, I was afraid I would cut off my fingers - hubby told me just simply - "don't put anything in front of the blade you don't want cut off". :)

If my wife did that I would just grind the blanks and give them over to her .
Just beautiful .
Did you do the bolster and pommel work also ? great fit .

bolsters and pommel were there but had to be adjusted, I am still quite afraid of the machines but I am learning to just go slowly and they will not bite :) thanks for the compliment. I just had to try one.... and that is how this whole thing got started for Jim. I already have my next one designed and am waiting for the steel to come in. I am gonna do it from start to done by myself. Hope you all will like it too.

Heck yeah! You two could be a very productive team if you pursue that.

He thinks I make them too "pretty" I just know what I like so that is how I design the handles and trims - He likes a lot of tactical and I am not so much into that area.
I do make a lot of his micarta for the handles. That is a fun process once you learn it.

thanks but as I mentioned - the malachite was a composite - not stone, I did not want to mess it up until I had more experience.

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to seeing your next one!;)

Regardless of it being only a ground blank yada yada yada, that is a good looking knife. She should be proud of her work and remember that you always have to start somewhere. Next she will be wanting to try her hand at stock removal, then forging, then damascus, then she will want to build cut and shoots like Bruce Bump. You have created a monster my friend:)
