Looking for a knife in the $50 range for my wife. I'm sure she'd prefer a girlie color and I've always been a kershaw fan so I guess that's a start. Also need something that's available not hard to find. Thanks for the help.

Victorinox Swiss army knives has a zillion models and colors/patterns for handles, esp. the Classic line. Also, look at Rough Rider and Colt knives - lots of choses (even pink :-)

The Spyderco Dragonfly 2 makes a great little purse knife and it only weighs 1.2 oz.

+1 for the Dragonfly 2. My girlfriend has been carrying one for a while now and loves it.

Spyderco Ladybug, Manbug, Dragonfly, and Delica all make great EDCs, especially for smaller hands. And they come in fru-fru colors as well. ;)

I recommend the Kershaw Nura 3.0 - She gets a great knife and you can keep $20 in your pocket :D

Thanks for all the input. I like a few of the spyderco options. I'm thinking the squeak might be the winner. Right in my price range, girlie color and available. Thanks again. I always get great help from this forum.

I personally have a nura 3.0. Love it. Don't think she could handle a liner/frame lock. She'd cut her fingers off. And she's a lefty.

+2 on the dragonfly, it's definitely a "little big knife". Another one to consider is an Ontario Rat 2 (the smaller brother to the Rat 1, a beloved knife to many). There's a pink one, gives you good blade length in a small handle. Sweet little knife, used one myself as a my work/beater knife and though thoroughly beat up, it still has a lot of life left. Let us know what you end up getting her/what she thinks

I got my lady a Spyderco ladybug for her keychain and she grew to love it.
Also just a heads up, the Squeak is a slip joint knife, so it doesn't lock. Not sure if that makes a difference in her case.

I'll definitely look into the rat. But i think the fact that the squeak is a slip joint might be good for her. She's a lefty and I'm not sure she can handle a liner or frame lock.

My wifey carries a pink Izula, a pink BM Mini-Grip, and a pink Rat 2. The Izzy is her favorite (I did the cord-wrap and lanyard):

Check out the Cold steel mini tuff lite in pink. My fiancé has had it for over a year and loves it. Another good option is the Ontario Rat 2 in pink. She had had it for almost two years and it is holding up great.

Kershaw Link. Check it out. The Link is a brand-new model from Kershaw, and it's made in the USA. For around $45 you get a ZT-like knife with a 325 inch assisted blade. I got mine a few days ago. The handle is supposed to be grey, but it looks rather purplish (a girlie color?).
