This was sent Dec. 13, 2005 but did not arrive till Dec. 30. Better late than never so they say. It fits very nicely with another knife collaboration by Zaza. This one is a collaboration between blademaker, Don Lozier, and Zaza who does the Georgian filigre work on the handle and sheath.

This piece can be worn as a pendant as it is only 6 1/4" long overall but we do have to find a chain for it now. It is very light weight and has 5 nice Garnets for which Phyllis has a nice pair of matching earrings (as well as a couple of strings of Garnets as necklaces).

This piece will reside on a stand underneath another Zaza knife which was done in collaboration with Howard Clark.

They will keep each other good company.

Two stunning high art daggers, the Don Lozier/Zaza collaboration is what I would expect after seeing his DDR collaborations.Guessing you and your wife are well pleased.
The Howard Clark/Zaza is as outstanding,at least. Can't tell but the H.Clark/Zaza has a Damascus blade?
They should make good company for each other.

:D

I still remember when Howard offered this blade that he didn't know what to do with for sale. You are to be congratulated for your vision then.

Yes, Josh, it was a blade that Howard had around for awhile and if I recall Robert Marotz put me onto it and then I tried to figure out who would be best to do a handle. Finally settle on Zaza and his filigre and Howards Damascus with the unusual open fuller worked out just great and then I also had Bob Schrap do a sheath and later another button was added to the sheath on the rayskin.

Phyllis is very please with her gift.

it is rather cute eh Roger. Buddy, we will have a real good knife show with all the stuff I have obtained since you were last over. Let me know when you can make it. I'll try to look for the Blade mag too so I can read your article. congrats re that coup. and that is coup not coop lol.

Please extend my congratulations to Phyllis on her outstanding gift--and by extension her fine husband's generosity! ;)

What I AM clear on is how beautiful BOTH of them are. :D

Great work. Thanks, Murray for these nice images and the post.

I look forward to it Murray - particularly with all the new pieces I will get to grope.

That is really neat, Murray!

Your vision with the Clark piece really is impressive.

Don Lozier is certainly an underated maker with alot of skill. I've been fortunate to own several of his pieces one which I had Chris Meyer engrave, ended up in Blade.
