Well, I went ahead and jumped on the Wii boat, now I need some help from you folks! What are some good racing and shooting games for it? I like simple stuff, nothing where you have to hit four buttons to make a move and such.
Also, if you have some games you don't care for any more, lemme know and maybe we can do some dealing. I like mostly racing games but I played tennis and baseball on this Wii and it was a blast!
Thanks!!!

Excite Truck is a great racing game, not very realistic but a ton of fun to play. Need for Speed Carbon is decent. Mario Kart:Wii is pretty good too if you're into that. Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 is really the only good shooter on the Wii. Metroid Prime 3:Corruption is really good shooter/adventure type game. Beyond those games I've been pretty dissappointed with the games available on the Wii. But then again I'm not a real "hard core" game so games usually have to be really good before I get interested in them. My kids (5 and 7 both boys) love the Wii.

Some of the games the wife and I enjoyed the most were the old ones we bought through the Wii. I never was much of a video game guy, but some of them brought some good memories up for the wife. For me, the new Mario Kart kicks all kinds of ass.

The Mario Kart seems like a pretty good game. My son likes is a lot and I've even tried it a time or two and its fun. He likes his XBox 360 a lot more for shooter games so I can't offer anything there.

Here's another vote for Mario Kart - get the wheels that the controler clips into (game comes with only one) - they cost about ten bucks and are worth it.

I know there are "guns" that the controler clicks into for the shooting games - my son has one shooting game, but I can't remember the name of it and he doesn't seem to use it to much. The PS3 seems to be his game of choice for shooting games.

Another game was Mario Party 8 - whole family can play and there are mini games throughout it, lots of variety.

Thanks guys!!!!
I think I'm gonna sign up for one of those rental deals and try some of the games before I invest in buying em.
Might even look around for a good decrypting program so I can copy the rented ones.
I got the steering wheel and the gun when I ordered the Wii, knew I'd want em!!! :D
Do any games from other game systems work in the Wii?

Gamecube games work, but you'll need a Gamecube controller.

For shooting I recommend Resident Evil 4 and Metroid Prime 3.

I'm a 46y old guy, and I've battled many brats around the globe on Wii Mario Kart. Its a lot of fun.

all this talk of mariokart - mario galaxy is fun too. n64 style but more interesting worlds. some of which are kinda 3D-ish.

You can use the Wii-mote with Game Cube games if you have to. It’s a little funky though using one of the classic controllers makes it a lot more natural.

Hey guys, are the Wii Fit games worth a crap?
I was thinking about trying one of them out to see if it would get me out of the recliner, lol! I think it would be a lot easier to stay with as an exercise program if it's a fun game.
Also, I love the baseball game that came with the console, what's a good version of baseball to get? There are so many of them offered! I thought Mario Super Slugger sounded good till I watched the trailer at Walmart's web site. It looks a little too goofy for me.
Thanks so much for helping me out with this stuff folks!!!!!!

Wii fits actually pretty cool, its not gonna replace heavy exercise but for about $80 I think its very fun and very versatile.

Whoa, since when... how? I always thought I had to use a GC controller.

I'm hopelessly addicted to mariokart.

Time trials, me alone against the clock.

Sounds great EbbTide!!!!!
I'm gonna get it as soon as I can find it on sale!
I have a couple on their way that I got off Ebay, Nitro Bike and Monster Jam. I hope they're fun!
I like running what ever I'm driving or riding off the track or back wards and running over stuff and doing as much damage as possible, lmao!
I do that when I get tired of doing the regular raceing.

Sorry you can use them on some of the 2D games for 3D your gonna need a Game Cube controller. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a guy use is wii-mote and numchuck on some of the better GC games though. But I just spent the last half and hour trying it and I cant figure out how he did it.
