Thanks for the link. Though I don't 100% agree with everything that he has to say (his writing off of the ABS being my biggest point of contention), I do think that he is right in his thoughts about damascus, and that is one great looking fighter.

I have known Bill for a # of years,he is willing to back up anything he says! Am I biased,being a friend,maybe !If you really want to find out what he thinks & why,"Ask him"!

why doesn't he make knives any longer?
is he serious about his offer to teach someone how to forge steel and make blades?

i've admired his work in books for years.

I have always had a lot of respect for people that say what's on their minds and don't pussy foot around. It seems that Wild Bill does exactly that.

He is correct that if he never makes another knife the world will keep on turning, but the knife world will be the lesser without those great knives and Bill being a part of it.

Guro_Jeff, I am sure that he is serious about his offer. Bill doesn't seem like the type that would say that if he wasn't.

Know you like Bowies & big knives! Well,I have handled his blades ,you have "no" idea!! Biased.as I said ,being a friend maybe,but then again maybe not! Know some boys ,that can afford anything they want & all they want is Caldwells & buy all they can get him to make & "use them"!!Be advised, he is a great guy, BUT has his own ideas,not a dishonest bone in his body,does not put up with too much BS,means what he says,& can be VERY abrubt!!
