I just received some great news from Wild Bill. It looks like he is going to get back into making knives after a rather long hiatus. With all the other stuff he does, I'm not sure how heavily he will be getting back in to knifemaking, but it is just great to hear that he will be doing so at all.

this is great new, Keith. Hope all is well with Bill. Know if he'll be at any of the upcoming shows?

What are his prices like, say for something like Keith' old avatar? I know he's not cheap.

Like that:

I suppose you're first in line? ;)

Nope, I am sure that Jim is correct, but I am going to get Bill to make me a 10" Airborne Ranger in his fantastic pattern welded steel. I have wanted one of these knives for years.

Guys,
One of his that I have is his COMBAT FOLDER ,1 mill. layers of Dam. lockback folder, like the one in WALKER'S BATTLE BLADES BOOK! Only dif. is mine has Bloodwood scales instead of Ironwood(told me I have the last one cause he won't be making these anymore). His wife makes some nice blades also.We look for each other when he attends the Guild in Orlando.

bloodwood - gotta love it. Has it darkened at all, Jim?

Yep! Guilty!A little bit on Wild Bill,He's been there done that!! Really & no BS!
Black Belt, from my era, when you got broken bones & bruses,COMPETEING & TRAINING,not a wannabe, knows steel, blades AND how to use them.As nice a guy as you would ever want to meet, doesn't lie to customers ,or people in general. Is his stuff CHEAP!Not in PRICE,WORKMANSHIP NOR QUALITY!

So, do I gather from this conversation that Jim_l_Clifton and Kukri4302 are one and the same?
If Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde can be called one-in-the-same....sure, why not?

 :D :p

Forged and hollow ground....you dont ever see that!

I have 4 of his knives....two small fighters, one big one, and a hunter...all very nice.

Joss, the price of a 10" Airborne Ranger is from $2000.00 to $2500.00 depending on materials used and then you have to add a sheath to that because Bill doesn't make his own sheaths.

Greg, from what I understand, Bill doesn't hollow grind his knives, he hollow forges them. Rather than grinding in the hollows, he forges them in.

not unheard of....but definitely a nice touch. That's something I'm personally very interested in. Jimmy should know why...;)

That Ranger bowie is absolutely stunning. How much does one of those cost?

Keith,
