well, i was having a chat with bill k at buck
and happened to ask why
wild bills cell phone was not working...

well it seems wild bill cody is no longer an employee of buck knives,inc

no other details for a bit yet

now watch his work become hard to find!
if you dont already have it it is too late!
so sorry guys ..
no new news yet..but .. it was said that there may
be some knives by WBC much like Dave Yellowhorse has with them

Is it not reasonable to believe that Wild Bill will go on modifying Bucks and or working in an associated capacity like other designers? Anyway, I would hope so.
 
It is my understanding that WBC is still working closely with Leroy and will continue to do so. I'm betting that he will keep busy.

well ... good question
i "heard" he is setting up shop as WBC Knives
could be he will contune to work on buck knives in the same manner
as david yellowhorse as an independent
as to doing bucks you send it
well if he is independent then i dont see why not..

I know he is setting up shop right now... My friend told me Sat. that he helped him move all his stuff out of the old buck shop... I didn't want to say anything yet about him not working for Buck any more, in till he said it was ok... Well the cat is out of the hat, now everyone knows... He will open in about two weeks or so... I'm sure he will work closely with Leroy, after all they are good friends.... That's all good news... Can't wait to see his new shop... I will take some pics of his new shop soon for everyone can see... It's to bad Buck let him go... Who next??? :eek: ... I hope no one else, is... :)
 
I don't know much about their relationship. Hope it was an agreeable split with no/little hard feelings and that he goes on to continue his great work.

Rough times now all around.

The 55 with mammoth tooth on the "specials page" at the Buck site is a Wilde Bill Cody knife. I have the 301 with mammoth tooth and it is quite nice. I think they were limited to 200 and there is a number on each knife.
 
It will be interesting to see if the number of limited editions that Buck offers each year will now decrease since so many in recent years seemed to be WBC inspired.
 
A really nice guy and a RARE talent...How many years with Buck?? I hope Bill and Buck are OK...

wow it dont take long!
i spent several hrs on the internet today surching bucks at a lot of locations
seems prices on Wild Bill Cody's work is already starting to rise!!
already one listing on a gun site stated he had left buck
and there would be no more from him
btw it was Sold! when i checked back later
so as i said if you want one from WBC get it quick
or contact him and get your order in now
it will be a while before he sets up and is producing!
and they most likely will be even more limited then before!
 
WBC will do well in the owner/operator end of custom knife making!!! I hope someone post's his addy/link when he is set up.
