I was just browsing thru the makers on Blade Art and I came across this:

Frank Recupero

Here is a pic:

What do you guys think? I am curious, and these look really nice.

I do not have any personal experience with his work, but he has been re-working knives for as long as I can remember and I have heard nothing but good things about his work. Just look at those Mach-1s!

Here you go Reed.

I had someone customize a production Emerson awhile back and had to wait a looooooooong time for it but when I got it back I then understood the meaning, "Good things come to those who wait."

But waiting always sucks :)

This one is a Commander with contoured carbon fiber handles and torx head screws and file work on the liners:

This one is the same Commander with Super sculpted and polished G10.

Here is a tiny taste of the filework on this bad boy:

This knife wasn't done by Mr. Recupero. It was done by Drew Gleason who was at the time a frequent poster on BFC but no longer does :(

He has also semi-retired from doing custom work on knives so we're outta luck. I wanted to get more from the guy after I recieved this one, but none of my convincing worked. Heck, I even tried money!

I don't have a digital camera so there were two items on the knife I wanted to show off but couldn't do it, and if I did it wouldn't have done the work justice.

He also did filework on the highly polished clip that looks real good and he jeweled the liners so that you can see an awesome pattern on them when the knife is open.

The G10 and the Carbon fiber are interchangable too.

Rosanghal,
Man, those are what I was looking for. I am going to try and email Recupero, and see if he does carbon fiber, cause an plain spearpoint SOCFK will be shipped to him if he does.

Thanks for the pics and the info,
Reed

We have a couple guys here, Suspects, that can modify a Emerson to your liking. Off the top of my head is Kevin Robinson and Bandityo. If you do a search with their names in the subject line you'll be able to see some of the work they have done for some of the Suspects in here. From what I've seen their work is second to none and I'm pretty sure their turn around time would be no where near the wait I had to endure with my Commander. Take a look at some of their work I'm sure you'll find something you'll like.

Hey Sniperboy
If I do convince him I'll let you know as soon as I get a couple orders in first ;)

Last I talked to him he was very disappointed in how he handled our transaction and the complaints he recieved when he made a career move and had to travel across the U.S. and re-locate. He let things slide and got caught up with the stress of a new environment and more responsibility in his job. He said he won't do it again until he's sure he can handle it.

He also mentioned that if he were to do it again, and that's a big "IF" he was going to buy the knives and do the custom work on it so that the individual wouldn't be without his knife for the time he had it. So that'll increase the price significantly.

I'll drop him an email again soon and let you know if he's willing to handle customizing again.

Ross T.
