Wild Justice...National Geographic Channel

Dude I just stumbled across that show while flipping through the channels at my girlfriends house last night, and now I'm wishing I didn't cancel my cable. I honestly have not watched TV in months, but now I want to get cable again for this show.

In several posts, I mentioned the wisdom of having a gun that is suitable for bears while camping here in Calif., and got laughed at a few times because several of you who flunked geography and biology class didn't think there were bears in Calif!

Not to mention the pot farms......

A good example of why you shouldn't care about other people's critical opinions (or laughter) and proceed to do what you know is the right thing.

I watched both shows last night cause I got the channel for free preview this month. The freebie ends today so I may have to upgrade. I've known there were bears in CA all my life I think from watching nature shows. How could anyone not know this?

I think the bear in the poster on the web site, is actually a griz or brown and not a black bear. Some graphic design student messed up perhaps....

Isn't there a bear on the state flag? I imagine they didn't put it there because they thought it was cute...

Gah, another gun in the woods thread?
This has got to be the W&SS equivalent of "What's the best knife?" threads.

Carry one if you have one and can legally do so, and want to.
The end.

Love this T.V show, but I'm not so fond about the idea that there is going to be an up rise of people wanting to become fish and game wardens. More competition!

can't speak to CA, but in the Mountain West there has never been a better time to enter the field- 15 years ago I would tell folks to seriously consider another line of work- we'd get over a 1000 apps for a just couple of open positions, while still competitive there is a much better chance of breaking into this line of work now

btw there will be another game warden show airing on the Outdoor Channel (I think in January) :D

One thing I would like to change about the show is that they sometimes refer to pretty grievous offenders as "hunters". I would rather they call them poachers, game law violators, game felons, offenders, lawbreakers, criminals or some other term that does not lump them under the same description as lawful hunters.

HAHAHA, I was reading this thread wondering when somebody was going to realize that.

Wish I could get this program, I get the NG channel here but its the Canadian version, while you guys were watching game wardens chase down poachers I was watching Great Migrations - ya NatGeo I get it animals move around alot (also geograhically significant but generally not as entertaining).
Guess I will have to find it online somewhere.
