Wild Mushrooms

#5 is chicken of the woods but I am clueless on the first four. What are the official and common names for them? I am watching for c.o.t.w'ds but not seeing any in their home spots yet.
 
First two are Black trumpets, #3 is Lobster mushroom, and #4 is Hedgehog.
Chickens came from across the road from house so I checked all of my other spots,,, nuttin.
Chantrelles should be early this year too.
 
love'em but don't know enough to pick for myself....did one time and I was safe
after some reading and pics....but never did again...
I wish I could tell what kind is in front of me when im walking in the woods....
O well....

I have three books of the mushrooms in my area, and cross reference with all three. The Net can help too.It can take me up to two years til im certain, but I've got about a dozen different fungus now that I like to collect at different times of the season.
I like to bring samples home to study and do spore prints. Best advice I ever read was "when in doubt, throw it out"
 
I'll be going for my first time this year. I do have help in choosing the right ones thankfully.
