The bourbon is great, and the Wild Turkey Liqueur (now called American Honey) is great too....

Rare Breed IS good stuff.

I'd like to check into the American Honey. Thanks for the heads up.

The trending on Bourbon is to age it less (to get it to market quicker) or sell the well aged stuff for $100 a bottle.

So a couple years ago I took 12 1.5l bottles of 101 and put them in a 1000Oaks cask for a year. The char in the cask gave the bourbon a much deep flavor with more smoke, carmel and vanilla.

Regular WT is good but this stuff is off the hook! Super premium Bourbon at EDD price. You gotta love that!

I did the same thing with 10 bottles of Makers. Same great result.

Now I'm stocked up on really good bourbon for a WHILE.

That's great! Where'd you get your casks?

Right on.

As for me - I'll take Booker's or some Pappy 15, or better yet - Van Winkle 13yr Rye.

By the way, I did mine on the 3 season porch. They do leak a bit, even if you pre-season them with water per instructions. I kept them on paper towels. And the porch smelled like a distillery for a year! I really enjoyed that but MBW wasn't as excited by the (very potent) aroma;)

good stuff. i stock up when i go to cali cuz it's a lot cheaper than oregon. usually pick up a case or so of handles of jack. last time down the turkey 101 was cheaper, so i've got a case plus a couple jugs of 1/2 gals of turkey. nice score considering it's considerably more here. i'll be enjoying the turkey til next thanksgiving if i'm careful and don't entertain too much...
