Hello All, Yesterday Mrsappraisit and I took a day hiking trip to Wildcat Springs on the Mogollon Rim. It's a beautiful area of mixed conifer forest with several kinds of Pine, New Mexico Locust, Gambel Oak and Arizona Sycamore. The area is beautiful this time of year with the deciduous trees starting to change color and all the summer ferns dying off. I didn't take any bushcrafty type photo's but I did cut some dead standing Oak so I could work on bow drill fire, more on that later. Hope you guys all have a chance to get out and see some fall color.

Enough talk, here are the pics:

Great pics. Are thise ironwood scales on the Koster? It looks at home there :)

Are those hunting beagles? I bet they enjoy themselves there?

Thanks for posting.

great pics man... thanks for sharing.. i especially like that last shot...:)

Sweet pictures. The sun through the clouds is awesome. Nice knife too, I always admire those, someday I'll own one.

Nice pictures. The northern part of AZ has some beautiful places. I used to do a ton of camping up in Payson along the rim.

Awesome pictures! I really like the one looking down the trail. It looks like it would be a great area to hike and train in. Looks like you had a great knife along for bushcraft type activities too.

Thanks for the coments guys. Next time I will post the pictures much larger.

yes, it has ironwood scales, and feels really nice in hand. I don't hunt so neither do the dogs, but the dog on the left has amazing scent tracking ability. We were on a different part of the rim once and she caught a scent and followed it for about five minutes, it ended at some bear scat:eek: The dog on the right is a great dog but is not as "work minded" as her sister.

My wife and I love the rim area. it's so close the home, yet feels so far away. It's big enough to occasionally feel all alone:thumbup:

We are camping near there in about two weeks and I will definately practicing feather sticks, some traps, etc.. should be fun

Cool pics. How's that Koster treating ya?
Awesome knife. My other fixed blade is a Mora, and it's nice for the price, but the handle is way to small to feel good in my fairly large hands (Xl gloves). The Koster fits my hand like it was custom made for me.

That is a glorious sun ray shot over the mountains. Just excellent!

The last one looks like the aliens are coming down to get us. Very cool
