This FR-1 from Maxpedition is the bomb. I can stuff an awful lot of ..........stuff in it. I was asked by a few people to go over the contents.

well thought out kit! I never have seen the little soap wafers before, I'll be ordering some of those :)

<- also a big fan of steri-strips

I've found a small syringe (12cc hobby) to be very effective for irrigating wounds (wounds in the backcountry tend to be on the dirty side), takes up very little room in a kit

Nice job, thanks for the video. I just ordered a small bag for a FAK. Bookmarking this.

Lots of stuff for puncture wounds and cuts, but what about sprains or breaks? That's what the vast majority of injuries suffered in the outdoors are. I'm a big fan of ACE bandages and sports tape, because along with sterile dressings they can be used for so many things(though I carry a trauma dressing, too), but am about to upsize to include a couple of SAM splints.
The, uh, velcro thingie...any idea where you got it? I'd like to carry a larger kit while climbing, but don't want it on the outside of my pack while hiking. I like how that makes removing the pouch so quick and easy. Oop, google to the rescue: http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/TEAR-AWAY-MODULAR-PANEL-34p1005.htm

Owen, a couple of reasons I don't carry splinting materials. First off I am a big fan of anatomical splinting. For those who don't know what that is, it is basically tying the affected limb to another limb or the body. An example is the sling and swath. Second, in the areas I frequent there is a lot of wood that can be improvised into splints. Thanks for the question.

well said Terry.....I dont carry anything I can improvise in the field. The space is better filled with sterile dressings, and the like. Anatomical splinting is very effective and easy to do.:thumbup:

Great video bro.
