I carry with me into the wilderness one day hike- Esee rc-6 and Benchmade griptilian folder. If more than one day I carry same with Becker Bk-9 soon to be Esee Junglas on pack as well. I would like to also hear from other people on their styles of carry and why. I always learn and think it is interesting how people use different tools to get things done. Critique on my system most welcome, thanks. Knifeability a must for all humans.

--Winter backpacking trip or camping any time: RC4 or Izula and always a Spyderco Atlantic Salt
--Warmer or medium-length backpacking: Izula and the Atlantic Salt
--Hikes: either an Izula or the Salt

Do you really use three knives on longer trips? I'm not trying to bust balls, as everyone tackles the wilderness differently. I ask because I've been thinking of cutting down to taking only one. Generally I'll use the RC4/Izula for wood (which happens only some of the time) and the Salt for food and as a backup to the Izula.

That is exactly what I was thinking. I think my rc-6 could probably do it all. It is my go to knife for most bushcraft tasks. My wife usually comes with me and her main user is the rc-4. She is good with it too.

When I go backpacking I have my RC-4 and Izula. Put my RC-4 vertical on my pack straps and have the Izula around the neck.

And then I have my Trail Hawk strapped to the pack! =) Well, I have a Sven saw as well.

I am going off this weekend for several days in the woods.

I'll have a RC3 attached to the molle straps on my Camelbak pack. I am taking a Randall Made #14 on my belt, and a Spyderco Bushcraft knife, as well as a Wetterlings ax and a folding saw in the pack.
In my pocket, is the SAK Trekker.
I am not sure you can take too many knives. :D

I like to carry three and a Trailblazer collapsible saw. Wetterlings axes are awsome. SAK Trekker is what a kit or something?

that is the way I have my wife carry her's. For that knife it is a great style of carry, especially with the molle locks. KNIFEABILITY- a must for all humans

Someone will have something to say, I know, but I like my Tracker T1. I have been using it for years and the design has worked great for me so far. I am always carrying the Tracker or my recently acquired Busse NMSFNO. For small bush craft chores I like my Leatherman or ZT300. There are a few ESEE knives that I would like to have now, after reading all of the posts here praising them.

I like the tom brown tracker. It is just not for me but that is whats cool about carry systems. I know guys that bushcraft the hell out of anything with that knife. Great steel to 1095.

I carry a T-1 tracker too, I think its a great knife, with a Hedgehog leather sheath, and either my Izula or RC-4 with a wetterlings small hatchet.

Here are the usual blades I carry:

EDC- Izula
Day Hike / Outting- ESEE 3 MIL
2-3 Day and Longer Outting- ESEE 3 MIL and ESEE 5

SAK is Swiss Army Knife. The model is the Trekker.
I carry a SAK Farmer or Izula depending on what I feel like. Then I have a 4 inch fixed blade on my belt, Koster Bushcrafter or Howling Rat LM. I'll add a chopper to my day pack like my Gransfors Bruks mini or my Trail Hawk. I hardly ever use the belt knife, it's there as a layer in my cutting needs in case my Izula or chopper gets lost or broken.

That is a solid system. I want to buy a gransfors bruks and try it for a while to see if it is for me. KNIFEABILITY-a must for all humans

Even though this is the ESEE forum, my usual woods carry is this:
