Wilderness Survival Experience (w/ only a knife)

I am interested in hearing from anyone who has survived in the outdoors with only a knife, or with nothing at all; either voluntarily (for practice), or in a real world survival situation. I have survival knowledge, but it is merely academic, when compared to those who have actually survived with only a knife or without even a knife. I am not interested in hearing of survival stories that you may have heard or read of. Nor am I interested in hearing about survival experiences where you survived a period of time in the outdoors with more on you than just a knife.

Simply put (at the risk of sounding repetitive), I'd like to hear from anyone who has survived in the outdoors, be it the ocean, the desert, the swamp lands, the mountains, the North woods, the arctic, the jungle, or anywhere other than urban environments, and all you had with you was a knife, or nothing at all but your clothes and your skills.

I am posting this thread to learn from your experiences. For example, how did you purify water (if you did)? What kind of shelter did you construct? What did you eat, if anything? I think it would be great to hear from folks that either voluntarily (practice situations), or in a real world survival situation, had to survive for more than a day in the outdoors, with the bare essential of only a knife, and nothing else but your skills and the clothes you are wearing. Thank you for sharing your survival experience(s) with me.

Volvi, Jeff Randall is organizing exactly what you are looking for: a single-knife trip. If interested you might still be able to sign up. There is no better then a first hand experience.
I am very much interested in the same question and looking for someone with relevant experience. However, that does not seem to be the mainstream thing. BOSS organizes something like this but still allows few pieces of equipment. A knife as the only equipment is certainly challenging but might be too much to ask for.
I wish I could make the time commitment to join Jeff's 'single-knife tour'.

I have already emailed Darryl regarding the survival trip. I'm going to be there if I don't get bumped off the list. They are only letting so many folks go (first come...). I still haven't made the extra money for the trip. If I get bumped off the list then I'll go on other trips.

Even before I heard of the survival trip I was considering doing some survival trips of my own for practice purposes.

It seems there's a lot of people with survival knowledge, but very few who have actually spent some time in the great outdoors actually surviving for a period of time with only a knife. It seems to me that you'll never really be a survivalist if you don't actually practice wilderness survival with the bare essential of only a knife. Most of us have read or heard of others that have done so, but I'd like to hear first hand from someone that actually has survived in the outdoors w/ only a blade.

Happy trails...
