Wilderness survival in upstate NY? Survival Stories?

Hey everyone,
My name's Brandon and I'm currently Photo Editor for the SUNY Plattsburgh magazine--All Points North. For the upcoming Spring/Summer print issue, we're going with a "survival" theme. I'm looking for anybody in or around the Adirondacks that has an interesting/exciting wilderness survival story they'd like to share for publication. If you or someone you know has been involved in such a scenario, please leave a post and basically tell me your story. Details are great, and other sources would definately help, so let me know. Thanks and I look forward to your response!

Marty Simon runs a a survival school just north of the Adirondacks. Our forum moderator Kevin Estela is the head instructor there.
