I know of one,
SUWS, Student Urban Wilderness Survival,
It is a correctional program for kids with drug problems, anger problems, and things like, But I am sure they will welcome you,
It is basically three weeks of pure hell in the Idaho desert, you will learn a lot of things and since it is for correctional kids, you can see they dont really allow knives, but they supply you with a knife within the first week for making your things, everyday you get up and hike and make traps and bow drill stuff,
You might want to try it, they take kids of all ages, I actually was a student there in my younger days.........

No KNIVES?!?!?!
:::Shudders:::
no way I am going to even think about a place that I can't bring my own blade to.

NO KNIVES?!?!?!:eek That's not a survival course!!! That must be some liberal/socialist indoctorination camp!!!! If your going to be in Idaho to study survival Go to Hood's Woods( http://www.survival.com ).

You'll be better off!!!

If your goal is to learn survival, the LAST thing you want is a school for kids with problems. Half the course will be spent trying to work through these people's "issues", time that would be infinitely better spent learning skills. There are any number of scools available that fill the bill.

I have to pipe in here with a caveat: save for survival training with the best, even if it takes longer to get there! In other words, better to travel to Idaho to see Ron and Karen, and equally advantageous to travel to Wash. State and visit Greg Davenport's school, ANEW/Simply Survival. BT put the link to Ron and Karen's site in his post. Greg's school is at http://www.ssurvival.com . Save up for them -- going someplace local out of convenience may or may not get you decent instruction -- but if it's bad instruction, you'll get hurt or killed in a survival situation when the bad training kicks in!

Good luck to you!

Peace,

Brian.

Good luck,
