Wilderness Way Mag

I have never heard of it.

I've had subscriptions to similar looking mags in the past and still have one for BackWoods.

Let us know how it is. I'm interested if it's a solid, worthwhile mag.

I had a subscription to it, i'll probably renew it. Someone old me that in one of the issues that they said a certain plant was edible but it was actually poisonous, so just be carefull i guess.

I have a issues of backwoodsman, I like it i might get a subscription to it.

Ahh, don't worry, you'll get it, they are probably on Indian time.

Interesting that they'd recommend eating a poisonous plant. Perhaps part of the preperation removes the poison, like so many of the medicinal plants need to be prepared and used in a certain way or they are toxic and sometimes lethal. You might call it to their attention and see what kind of a reply you get. I mean, you don't want to read the mag if it's giving out harmful information.

I've read a few issues, it's alot like the "Backwoodsman" magazine. You do have to be careful, the "Backwoodsman" uses articles from anyone in trade for advertising space, they have no writing staff or on site experts I guess.

I've subscribed for a couple of years and thoroughly enjoy Wilderness Way magazine. It is only published four times per year which may account for the delay.

I got Wildeness Way for a year, and now I get the backwoodsman. I like that mag a little better

I subscribe and really like it. Now, I'm just waiting on my first Backwoodsman to show........

ok guys here is the scoop.

this magazine has had a change in editors. Christopher Nyerges is the new editor. he has run the School of self reliance for over 20 some years. he is the author of several books on wild plants and self reliant living. He has also produced a video on wild edible and medicinal plants... (This man knows his stuff). I spoke with Christopher this morning he has just finished editing his second issue of wilderness way. He told me that he receives articles all the time from different people. some he doesn't bother with beacause they are way off, some he sends back explaining why he will not use them, and the others he will use in upcoming issues.

hope that helps to clear the air.

Thanks for the replies. I will give y'all some feedback when it starts to come. I also got a subscription to Backwoods Home (http://www.backwoodshome.com/) and a flint knapping magazine called CHIPS. I will keep you posted. Thanks again.

I had a subscription in the past. It's an OK magazine. I prefered Outdoor Survival Guide though.
