The thin (like the originals) 7 5/8" long blade is full-quenched out of 1095 is by Tai Goo. it was patterned after an original 18th Century French trade knife. I did the handle like many original replacement handles using a whitetail crown with a buffalo rawhide grip piece and hand-forged rose head iron pins - the sheath is rawhide and brain tan over bark tan decorated with beads and bangles ala the Plains Cree.....

Great job Chuck & Tai. This one will be a special prize for some lucky collector who appreciates such fully expressed authenticity as well as fine craftsmanship. Dramatic, evocative and "really real."

Glad ya'll like it - this was a new customer and haven't heard back yet.....I'll send hin this link.......

BTW - I made a correction this is WG 14 not 15 - I just got #15's blade (a 10.5" Bowie) from Tai today and had that on my mind....

The sheath on this was REALLY frustrating - I had the lower beadwork on the rawhide section almost done and re-dampened it (rawhide has to be worked damp) to finish up and the whole thing tore into shreds on me    - about 20 hours of beadwork down the drain - so I pulled up my britches and went back to work..............

Like all of Tai's blades it was a pleasure to work with and SCARY sharp - that boyo does know how to put an edge on a knife!

Very Nice, sure bet the new owner is tickled. It would be right at home hangin' over the stock my old round baller.

I love modern interpretations of traditional knife art, especially when
they are executed so beautifully!

All the best,
