Looking to ad another small EDC knife to my rotation. Am having a hard time deciding between a Doug Ritter mini griptilian with some Wilkens scales or a Spyderco techno. Was hoping to hear others opinions comparing both of these knives. Which one do you like better? Forget price point. Just want to know which knife you enjoy more. Thanks

Can't speak to the Techno, but my Ritter Mini-Grip w/ Wilkins scales is a personal favorite. It feels very solid with the Wilkins scales (a bit thicker, wider, and heavier than the stock Grip scales), and it rides comfortably (almost unnoticeable) in pocket. The high flat grind makes for a fantastic slicer, and the wider blade on the Ritter version gives it a nice, stout feel.

They are both excellent knives and I have had both, in fact I just put a set of Ti Wilkins grips on my mini Ritter and I much prefer it to the Techno. I choose the Ti Wilkins Ritter.

I have both in my rotation. The Ritter is a better slicer and probably more practical for my day-to-day uses (not that the Techno isn't practical, the Wilkins-Ritter is just more so) but the "ka thunk" of the Techno lock engaging is sweeter than most other sub 3 inch frame locks engaging. Its a "pleasure of ownership" rather than a "best knife for my purpose" thing.

Thanks for the replies. I really like both of these knives. As most of you have said the Ritter just seems a little bit more practical, but there is something about the techno that I just like....even if it is more of a novelty. I have been having a hard time deciding which one to get and I just realized I dont have to choose either or.........I can have both:)......just need to pick which one to get FIRST:). Looks like the Ritter mini grip will be getting the nod.
