Any thoughts on the feel and durability of the Wilkins Anodized Aluminum scales? I am interested in picking up a set of G10 or Aluminum, but have no idea how the aluminum holds up to use or feels in hand.

Thanks for sharing!

I will know in a couple weeks.....Just ordered some the other day (Hardcoat Aluminum). I can tell you the Ti grips are fantastic, a little heavy but definitely worth it to me.

In my opinion the aluminum scales look nice, but my experience with aluminum scales has overall has not been great. I just don't like metal scales in general, they are cold in the winter (I live in MN) and hot in the summer and are prone to scratches and chips. I have no experience with Wilkins aluminum so for all I know they could be extremely durable, but that has not been my experience with other aluminum scales.

I appreciate the help. I am sure they are very nice scales, but I think I am going to stick with the Wilkins Orange G10 for now and keep the aluminum for my flashlights.

I have a set of the black with the blood red spacer.

They feel rather nice to me. Very light.

As far as durable, I haven't mounted them yet. I will carry them.

I have a set of the black G-10 and love them. I really like the way the G-10 feels.

Those look nice.

I like the Wilkins in Aluminum. As far was wear, it will take some time to see how that goes. Still too new.

That's a sweet looking Ritter. I've also been debating which wilkins scales to pull the trigger on. I really wanted a pair of the red aluminum but I missed out on those. Please keep us up to date on how the aluminum holds up vs daily carry.

I sat next to Kevin for the weekend at my first Gembloux, Belgium show back in 2008. He makes some nice stuff. His opinion was that the locking mechanism and blade on the Griptilian was a very sweet setup, among the best available for reasonable money, but as the knives were being made to a price point, the handle was where they saved money and they went REALLY cheap on that when compared to the rest of the knife. The downside for Us buyers is that he has to charge European prices, whihc are a bit more even without VAT. but his stuff is very well made and I can tell you from handling them back then that there is a work of difference even with his less expensive Griptilian handles.
