Will 940 Standoffs work on a 710?

Does anyone know if the standoffs (barrel spacers) from a 940 will work on a 710? I measured between the scales and they both are around .160”. I just wanted to check here first with the experts.

I believe the 940 spacers are shouldered, whereas the 710 (which was not originally designed to use barrel spacers) would not have the appropriate inlet holes in the liners to accommodate the 940 spacers. Every aftermarket barrel spacer I’ve seen for the 710 is flat.

Thanks for the reply Centermass. I currently have a set of MXG gear titanium spacers on my D2 bladed 710. I changed then out years ago when I replaced the back spacer. These I know were flat spacers. They are also not threaded and require you to use the longer scale screw and the threaded insert in the stock scale. I always preferred the open back on the 710 to the back spacer. I have ordered a set of carbon fiber scales. I know my current spacers won’t work with the new scales. So I am looking for options.

No problem. I wish there were other backspacer options for my 710 as well, and I do think the 940 style barrel spacers would look nice, just don’t think they’d work unless you somehow altered the spacers or the liner. Not to say it isn’t possible...

Looks like I will need to make a call to Benchmade customer service and hope they still have parts available.
