If you never use it then it probably will never lose its finish. Bluing is simply a form of oxidation as such although I suppose it's susceptible to some chemical or other that's not really the issue you have. Oxidation (such as rust or blueing) can be buffed or polished off. I suspect that the first time you contact anything with any sort of hardness to it you will scuff and scratch the blueing. You can repair this to some degree with cold blueing purchased from most sports stores. A better bet though would be simply to buff it off and be done with it, then you don't have to worry about the scratches and scuffs.
