Will a RAD sheath fit a GW2?

For anyone who has both knives, will a RadioActive Duty (RAD) sheath fit the Game Warden 2?

If so, is it a spot-on match or are there differences that affect fit?

Are you talking about a kydex or leather sheath ?
 
Actually both. But at this point I’m most interested in the leather. Thx
 
Primary concern: I have a Pirtle leather sheath for my RAD and wonder if it might also be a good fit for a GW2:

While I’m not cpirtle cpirtle , who happens to be a maker of excellent leather work. And whom I hold in high regard.
I believe sheaths are built to fit a certain knife well , especially when molded for that knife. That said the GW2 will probably fit as its slightly smaller blade profile I think.
Their handles are very close too.
The biggest concern I have with putting a knife into a leather sheath, that it’s not built for. Is you run the risk of possibly cutting into the welt or worse cutting through to the stitching.. So watch for that, you can use a flashlight to look inside the sheath. Check along the edge side inside sheath and also down at tip. Also you run the risk of hurting the fit of the molding process.

I appreciate the advice and had already thought through those points. Then it occurred to me that all I had to do was ask if anyone had both knives and if the fit is the same. Hence the thread.

Looks like it’s possible the GW2 is basically a RAD with the rear talon bobbed off. The other specs—and the look—are very nearly identical. The GW2 has a slightly shorter blade length, but that shouldn’t matter.

I have both knives here, that’s why I said they’re similar. So to answer your question you need someone with all three , two knives and Chads sheath. Hopefully someone will chime in soon. I tagged Chad in to thread so he may chime in 👍

handles are different
blade is different.

Kydex is pretty exacting

I have a RAD and Game Warden 2. My RAD came with a VJT kydex sheath and my Game Warden 2 also fits with no issues. I imagine a leather sheath would work aswell, but I dont have to confirm.
 
Thank you, brenden23. I appreciate you following up with that. On your two knives, are the handles close to identical other than the rear talon on the RAD? In other words, if you lay the GW2 on top of the RAD, do the handles seem the same back to the butt on the GW2? Thanks again!
 
welp, I also do have both an RAD and a GW 2 .

a GW 2 will not fit in a RAD sheath properly.

Nor will a RAD fit in a GW 2 sheath properly.

the handles are different
The grinds and blade shape are different.

They are not identical.

Heck I also have a Mountain Duty (thicker RAD) and the GW 2 will fit in it somewhat. although it is a little loose.

That is my experience.

I will see what pics I can get.
