Will an Emerson clip fit a Mini Grip?

It's sods law that the holes are going to be off just enough for it not to work though. :rolleyes:
 
They should swap out fine. Emerson gave his clip a different design and look but the mount pattern is the same as that of the first clips on knives that Spyderco started using on their Worker knives in the early 80s as I recall. That pattern is used on millions of knives in the industry from Spydercos through the years to Benchmades, Kershaws, Emersons, and more and sold in knife supply companies as a blank to be used by knife makers and its even on knives from Taiwan, and China and Japan and Italy at times.

On others like for example, the Tarani 5.11 Investigator it may look like the exact same clip but the hole pattern is just off enough to prevent them to swap. For the ones that work for swapping, the only differences you might see from time to time is that some clips may have different size holes drilled than the one you are trying to swap with. The Emerson and Mini Grip should be the same 2-56 size screw though so you should be good. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen a Emerson skull clip on a Griptilian. :D I had one Emerson here not too long ago that had a BenchMade Harley Davidson Skull clip on it.

This is a newbie question, but does bladeforums have a Benchmade section? I can't seem to find it when I click on "Manufacturer's Forum".
 
I actually have done it so it works. There is kind of a flat part on the handle where you screw the clip into on the mini griptillion, the emerson clip is a little wider then that but the screw holes line up perfectly.
