Hey guys I have been doing some reading and have seen that several people have had good results dying a G-10 handle with Rit Dye. So I was wondering if I dunk just the handle of a blade into the boiling water could this effect it in anyway?
Thanks

The low end of the tempering range, including carbon steels, is more like 350-375... still, liquid water can't go above 212F at standard atmospheric pressure, and it doesn't matter in the least until you surpass the original tempering temperature.
