I've been lucky enough to never have lost a shield from a Case knife. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
All of my correspondence with Case have been very positive. They are always very helpful. I would be very surprised if they wouldn't send you a shield. They are after all, the ones who decided to stop pinning them on. As I was typing that it occurred to me that they might ask you to send the knife in so they can an attach the shield themselves. I hope that's not the case.
