Im looking to buy a CGG Sebenza, hopefully get the graphic sand blasted(want all the color gone) AND add an Insingo blade.

Wondering if anyone has done something similar? I know you can order a new blade for whatever the particular knife was originally, but im not sure of CRK fitting it with a total different style (Insingo)

Doubtful CRK will change a blade on a CGG...and IIRC, they will change a blade from an Insingo to a drop point, but not the other direction.
A phone call will solve these questions pretty quickly though :)

Ahh, thats interesting, Ok never knew that about the blade swap. Looks like a call is on the list of things to do:)

You could always just add the CGG scale to an Insingo.

There has to be a better way to remove anodizing than blasting it, though.

Thats prob what i will do, just add the scale to an Insingo. As far as the blasting, i want the sand blasted look instead of the polished with colors.

Crk wont change between blade shapes.

If it came with a standard blade they will swap with only a standard blade.

Also i believe they wont blast a ccg or unique graphic. At least they wouldnt a few years ago...

I asked something very similar a few years back with a reverse silver graphic.

Hmm, ok, good info thanks.

Was looking at getting a "crop circles" cgg and sand blasting entire scale, then rock out with an Insingo blade on it. Maybe lightly sand design on scale to bring out contrast/shapes

I really like the idea of a CGG on the blasted scale. I've seen the American Flag graphic, which is traditionally anodized and on a polished scale, on a blasted scale and thought it looked awesome, kind of subdued. It would be cool to have the option for a graphic on a blasted scale with a stonewashed blade. You could do silver contrast to make it pop a bit.

Exactly +1

Unfortunately not, Chris Reeve will not allow swapping of blades such as an insigno from another crk because it was not fitted to that particular knife. I asked them directly this question about 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for all the info guys. I may try and "build" my own Sebenza...may take a few different knives/parts etc...but we'll see:)

Sure about this? When I spoke with them last week I said I wanted to switch my large insingo blade with a drop point and she said they would for $125.00

I think they'll go insingo to drop point, but not drop point (standard) to insingo. Plus it's $135 not including shipping both ways.

If it came with a drop point, it's going to stay drop point, iirc.

steel addiction you are correct. You can't order an insigno or tanto blade if the knife did not come with that. You are able to purchase the standard drop point for any 21. A Damascus is also possible but you will have to pay a big fee and shipping both ways (which at that point you might as well go all the way and buy another crk).
