**Will DDR design a production 7" Mad Max for Camillus?**

AFAIK, it's called the Gibbs Maxx and it has a 7.125" blade.

There will be a mid-tech (Camillus) and a full custom version.

Now, DDR will chime in with full specs.

Since when has Camillus been collaborating with Mid-Tech for high-end knives? I didn't know the two companies were related.

Check with your Camillus dealers asap to place an order. This is a limited run of 500. MSRP is $350 + or -. The price will be lower from your dealer. I've already ordered two. I have heard two to three months before they ship.

It will look the same as the CUDA Maxx, except, longer and have a spear point blade.

Uh...

Ooops...

Is there a company called mid-tech!?

Um... I just meant a mid-tech (i.e. collaboration, semi-custom, etc) knife in the sense of the type like the CUDA Madd Maxx, the CUDA Aftermath, the Simonich mid-techs, or the Onion/Kershaw high-end collabs...

It's not a full-on handmade custom, nor is it (as I understand it) an unlimited run production. Since it'll be limited production, as well as priced in the mid-tech range ($200-$400) I just called it a mid-tech.

Sorry for the confusion :p

Are there pics of it on the net? I would like to see a comparison pic of the 5" next to the 7".

Biogon,
CAMILLUS/CUDA is doing a collaboration with DDR on his "Gibbs Maxx" custom piece. The production knife will be called the CUDA MAXX 7.0 . Pics will be up shortly, as Terrill Hoffman is taking them today. The knife was introduced @ Bladeshow, and it was well recieved. It is planned as a 1 time production run, with approximately 500 pieces being made. I don't have any specifics right now on delivery, but I think it should be early fall. More details to follow.

Oh yeah, suggested retail is $350....remember gang, this is a one time run, so get your orders in early with your favorite dealer. Product number is CU2282.

Will it be identical in design to the CUDA MAXX stiletto 5.5 aside from the size difference?

I have a custom Gibbs with ironwood inserts.

It doesn't have a dagger blade, more of a modified spearpoint if I'm remembering DDRs terminology correctly. I think I saw another post that this would be the blade style for the Camillus version.

I have both the dagger style and clip-blade style 5.5 Maxx's. The Gibb's feels surprisingly different. The proportions are different. I know this is a silly comparison, but it feels more like a wakizashi than a knife to me.

I hope the Camillus version is ROBO enabled.
