*Will Emerson ever come out with a larger folder?

Get an ES1
oh, sorry, he's not taking any more orders.

Get a machete, and put a hinge on it

I'm a big man with big hands and I prefer big knives. I am planning to buy a rekat sifu. Why does emerson make such small knives?

I'll go out on a limb here.

Living in Florida, I am not effected by Draconian laws that restrict citizens carrying large knives. Most people are not so lucky.

I personally would love a larger knife, however, I seem to be in the minority.

Most companies will not make folders with blades over four inches, REKAT and Cold Steel are exceptions that immediately come to mind. But even with those knives available, I can tell you I've only met one person that carried one, and he was a gun rep that carried it despite it being illegal in the state he lived in. Being a rep for a gun company, he knew all the Law Enforcement Officers in his area and was pretty confident that he would not be arrested.

If you do a search here on the forums, you'll see people asking why folders are so big already and wanting smaller "Tacticals".

I too would like to see a smaller "Tactical", but not for everyday carry. I tend to travel by plane several times a year and would like a knife I can get onto the plane, with out having to argue with the little old lady in the suit about it being "Aggressive" looking. (Not that I just had an incident at the Las Vegas airport and a plain edged Commander).

Someone . . . and I shall go unnamed, forgot to put his Commander in his checked luggage (Hey! I remembered the Glock, give me a break!). You should have seen my face when I realized it.

I'm of the opinion that one should always have a plan for such emergencies.

I knew that every major airport has a Post Office in it. I ran down there and mailed it to myself. Unfortunately I had to overnight it (they were out of Priority boxes), but the nice thing is that it almost beat me home.

Usually I carry a self addressed Priority box in my carry on, but as I had planned on checking it, not this time.

I had a back up plan. The nice guy at the Delta check in counter was admiring my pistol when I checked my big Pelican case (luggage) and we had a nice conversation about guns and knives. Matter of fact, I recommended he check out BF.com and KF.com. If the Post Office had been closed, I was going to hand him the Commander, a twenty and a business card and have him mail it to me.

Baring that, I would have gone to the LVPD substation in the Airport and done the same thing.
