Will GEC do damascus?

I hope so. Wouldnt mind a few of my favorites revisited by GEC with some damascus editions :D

AFAIK, this is the only Damascus they put out. I'd love some of my favorite patterns in damascus but I don't think they'd be cheap. I imagine GEC would be really limited with the ones they would release in damascus.

Maybe they could use the Devon Thomas stuff like Case does, and keep the cost down?

I know that I love the stuff in my Case damascus peanut, and it is at least equal to the CV, maybe a bit better. Hard to judge as it's eird stuff, and does not act like plain steel, but keeps a edge that even when it feels dull, will saw through rope and cardboard. Maybe they should have a GEC easy open jack in Thomas damascus?

Carl.

I would think that the damascus would only appear on the Northfield line? Maybe they would develop a new line, using an "old" name?

If they are produced under the GEC banner, then they will probably be priced in line with the Bose annuals from Case. If so, the fit and finish better be superb at those prices.

If Case used Devin Thomas the price would be higher. They actually went with Devin's brother for the contract. As per a conversation with Devin Thomas Case has used multiple types of damascus from different makers.

With that said, I would LOVE to see GEC seal a deal with Devin Thomas for a large batch of Damascus.

It would be cool as long as we are dreaming for them to do a Devin Thomas/BRKT collab with the 48 pattern again. Ivory and ladder damascus mmmmm.
