I am thinking this will be my next spyderco purchase. To the people that have bought this knife, how do you like it? I want to say I am a BIG fan of the military and the para II. How does the Shaman cut compare to this two knives? How does it feel in the hand compare to these? Any negatives you have found with the shaman? I may have to get one of those para II in S35V with brown handles to if I can find the money. Lol I always like to here what everyone has to say on the spyderco forum.

The best way to describe the Shaman is as the love child of the PM2 and Native5. I have a pair of Shamans, both of which were acquired before the (necessary) price increase, and love the design. In terms of cutting ability, it feels closer to the Native5, mainly due to the blade design, but a tad larger. The bottom line is that I would not hesitate to buy one at the current price point. Keep in mind that I am a big fan of both the PM2 and Native5, and the Shaman gives me the best of both, along with superbly-contoured G-10 handles.

I have one and I love the knife. The blade cuts very well but seems quite tough and comfortable in the hand. It is heavier than a PM2 but I don’t mind the weight because it isn’t that much and it carries well in pocket. As reference, I love my PM2’s but don’t ever carry my military because it’s too big for me.

As everyone else, get one and check it out for yourself! Lots of positive reviews on it. I ordered one when they first dropped and it just wasn’t for me. I might give it a second try when they release it in a sprint with a fancy steel.

I’ve had mine for almost six months now and really like it. This is my first Spyderco (I’m usually a Benchmade guy). It is stout but slices and carries very well. The countered g10 and non-aggressive texture is awesome in the hand and pocket.

Touches up very well on my turnbox.

Waiting for the Cruwear Micarta version to try it out. The Native is my favorite model so I am assuming ill enjoy the Shaman as well, especially in my favorite steel (Cruwear) and Micarta!

To me it is a gentleman's version of a Manix 2. Almost the same size but in a classier looking package. If you get one splurge on CF scales and you won't regret it.
To sum it up, if you like the manix 2 you will love the Shaman.

Shaman was an unexpected hit for me. I carry it a lot more than I thought I would. I assume future sprint runs will be based on success of the standard versions.

I only wish I waited and got a dlc blade.

I'm currently fixated on a couple G10 Militaries.

But a Shaman will be mine soon.

I'm curious about the rumored S90V/CF version.

I just bought a dlc version here on the exchange, looking forward to trying it out. My all time favorite carry is the pm2. The only thing I’m not sure I’ll like is that it seems like there’s a lot of knife above the clip. Nobody minds how high it carries?

I got one off the exchange as well. How high it carries doesn’t bother me. I actually don’t like deep carry clips, but I replaced my PM2 that I left at a store I was servicing. So far I like the Shaman. You can even front flip this knife.

I didn’t like how high it carries when I first got it but after carrying it and using it, I don’t mind. In fact, I like how it isn’t a deep carry clip. For me, it’s a knife I carry to our ranch or somewhere outdoors where I anticipate heavy use. In that scenario not having a deep carry clip makes the knife easier to get out of the pocket, especially with gloves on.
