If this pix works let me know if you can see any tip damage. I can't. Good job, Will.

Methinks it may be necessary to address that worthy gentleman as "Will Kwan Bishwakarma" in the future :D

With a little time and effort such as Will expended here minor damage can usually be fixed up nearly as good as new.

That is from my GRS that I struck a rock with. Sorry not a very good picture but the knife is pretty well as good as new. Can't say I am a skilled craftman but I do get lucky sometimes. pretty easy to fix up.

First I unfolded the metal the chakam and hammer. Then I flattened the dented area with a hammer.

Sharpening the tip was done with a machine similar to this:

If the link does not work out, it referes to the Veritas® Power Sharpening System from Lee Valley. I used the belt portion with a 600 grit belt. I wanted a convex grind to increase the strength of the edge. The model I used (belongs to my father) was purchased at a local hardware store and does not have as many features or as much.

Good job Will....you really should consider taking Uncle up on the job offer!:)

(I would, if I could swing a ball peen three times without hitting my thumb at least once...remember the Griner brother in his shop in the movie "Deliverance" when Burt Reynolds walked in...?  )
