Can making kydex sheaths hurt the knife's temper? I know its not likely as they temper knives at like 300-400 degrees for hours, so I am not necessarily meaning from one sheath but if you use the same knife over and over for patterning sheaths to somewhat mass produce for that model of knife, would you eventually wreck it? I mean, you put the kydex in the oven at between 300 and 400 degrees so I am wondering if that repeated exposure could do anything or if the kydex just cools so fast that you can make as many sheaths as you want and it doesn't matter. I don't know, its just something I was a little worried about because someone I know is just getting into kydex bending and I am letting him practice with my knives, but I stick within the realm of leather myself.;) Thanks.

I was worried about that when I was making machete sheaths once because the blades were getting hot due to the large amount of kydex used.

However, the Kydex is only 350 degrees and maybe raises the temperature of the steel to 250 degrees for a few minutes. Its not enough to do any harm because there is no constant input of heat and the steel can never get as hot as the temperature of the kydex.
