Will Scotch brite work with stainless steel?

I've seen a few examples where people have taken their Sebenzas and umnumzaans and used scotch brite to give it a shinier, glossier finish. Was wondering, will this same method work on stainless steel instead of titanium? Am thinking of trying it on my CRKT swindle.

It will work. Just make sure to go in only one direction.

+1. I'll scotch brite the clasps on my stainless watch bracelets when they get scratched up.

+1 and be sure you use straight strokes that span the entire length of whatever it is you are running it over. It's easy to get ugly "fish hooks" and diagonal runs if you're not careful. I run the SB all the way off the work, purposefully lift it off, then do it again in the same direction.

The standard medium maroon 7447 Scotchbrite should work pretty well on most stainless and titanium. I don't know about the finer grits, but I use this stuff at work all the time on 304/316 stainless.
