Will SOG’s customer service and warranty get worse since SOG was bought by GSM Outdoors?

Does CS ever improve when a huge holding company starts making changes? Not recently that I’m aware of. Usually they make cuts and changes to improve investor profit and EBITDA, rather than product quality. I’m sure there are exceptions. More likely to drop quality, drop price, and sell lower end (by knife aficionado standards) product in greater volume.

Quality plays an important role in profitability. I never had a lot of confidence in it before, so maybe It’ll get better? Their best knives are $150-$200 and they aren’t nearly as good as Spyderco and Benchmade. Not many people buying $200 SOG knives, either.

Their customer service hasn't been all that great recently, I don't see how it could get any worse.

I tried to get a new clip a few months ago, I filled out the form on their website and waited 2-3 weeks, before calling them to ask about it. They said they had no record of my request, then took my address and told me they would ship one. Another 2-3 weeks went by with nothing, so I called again and was told to fill out the form on their website, so I did that again. Another 2-3 weeks, and I called again, this time I was told to email them my address, and finally a week later my clip showed up, approximately 3 months after my initial request. I got the same runaround from them trying to get a simple question answered, they wouldn't answer on the pone, told me to use their contact form, then on another phone call told me to use the contact email since the form was broken, and then later told me that they dont monitor the contact email. They still never answered my question despite three phone calls.
