Will Spyderco be at the Blade show in Atlanta?

I have a hard time imagining that a major knife manufacture wouldn’t show up to the largest knife show.

How do these shows work? Do they sell knives there or is it mainly to display new models and promote stuff?

Never been, but since I live about 45 minutes from the location I think I will stop in!

LOL last year my family had a family reunion on this weekend. This year I asked them to bump it up a week! :)

For most manufacturers it's primarily about displaying and promoting current models, although they do sell knives there as well. Spyderco also uses it as an opportunity to get input from the knife aficionados who attend such shows on knives due for release (prototypes) and knives they haven't yet decided whether or not to produce (concept models), a few other companies may do the same.

For custom makers of both knives and knife related items, it's mostly about selling stock on hand and taking orders, but there's also the element of promoting future business. For dealers, it's pretty much all about selling and trading.

I don't know if Spyderco has ever sold knives at the Blade show, or if they ever will, but the two shows I have been to, 2009 & 2010 they did not. They have just about everything they make there on display, including prototypes, and you can handle them, but they are not for sale. Sal and Mrs. Glesser have been there both times I stopped by and will talk to anyone interested. They are both really nice folks.

What Stu said,(and hope to see you there again this year Stu)

You can buy Spyderco's from dealers at the show, and stop and see the fine folks, and the newest models at the Spydie booth. Thats worth going for alone, but you'll be blown away when you walk into the Big Show.

You'll have a great time:thumbup:
