Will Spyderco be at the SHOT Show?

Is SHOT open to the general public? Looking at their website, I get the impression (perhaps incorrect) that it is only for folks in the industry and the working press.

Hi Deacon. You are correct. Public is not permitted.

Passes are expensive and one must prove they are in the industry in some business capacity before they can purchase one.

Manufacturers, Distributors, Dealers, Press, or some associated business related activity only.

Oh well, if someone will be fortunate enough to get there, maybe we'll have a brief review about the goodies shown there.

and please, please, please, take as much pictures as possible about the Spyderco stand. I always hear great stories about people handling new models ( Bison aka longhorn) but they never have any pictures of them. This makes me really interrested but i never can seem to find pictures of them. Or is there a no picture policy in the SHOT show. And whisper in Sal's ear "Szabofly, Szabofly" :D

Can someone put me back into green light, i was hit pretty bad about me defending Sia in the W&C battlefields :)

Hi Piglet.

"Prototypes" are designs for which tooling has begun and the model will go into some type of production.

"Concept models" are designs that are being shown for feedback from those at the show that get to handle the design, and that we get to talk to about the design.

We do not permit photos of the "Concept models". It is IMO, harmful to the future impact of the design, causes our sales dept many un-necessary tephone calls and emails for which they have no answer, and the production verion may be quite different from the concept model.

Models like the "bison" are still in "concept model" stage while we get feedback and refine the design.

Sorry :( Your kind understanding and patience is appreciated.

We also show them at the "Blade Show", New York Knife show and Spirit of Steel show, which are public shows.

ATTENDANCE RULES

NO Photography or Videotaping (Except by those wearing valid SHOT Show Press Badges).

I wish I was able to get a press badge just to get my picture taken with Sal & the gang at the Spydie booth!

Already suspected that. That is one of the "problems" i have with Spyderco, the new models only leave the factory after beeing engineered to almost perfection. But the waiting is just so difficult! :D

I hope I can take a pic of the Spyderco crew at SHOT.Sal would this be ok?

You guys wanna come show that stuff at "Blackwatch House" show? bwahahaha..hah..ha. *cough* well then.

I like the info that pours forth after shows. I await it with baited breath. *sniff* stinky breath...
