Will teak oil stain / patina the blade?

I have a small jar that I filled with teak oil and I have my knife handle sitting in it.

Is there a chance that the steel will take on some color from the teak oil?

The steel is taped up pretty good but I'm sure some will seep under the tape.

I know I should have tested it first but I'm an hour in now....
