Will the new 301 blade fit an old 301?

I just acquired an old 301, long nail nick, two spring that has had the main clip blade tip broken and reshaped. I'm going to be sending in some 110's shortly for spa work and I wonder if they can replace the old blade with a new one if I send it in too.

Will the new ones fit or have they changed too much over the years?

Without handling two, my first FIM (foot in mouth) statement would be if not it is because it would be 'more' narrow than Cami. model in tang width. Another FIM, pins seem pretty close in distance from ends.

Email Joe H., as many as you own you should be in the Golden Access Club......

300/ch

Handled a few....What do the rest of you guys think......?

Contact Leroy and see if he's got an older blade. He sometimes has blades from knives he's redone for customers.

I sent Joe an e-mail just a bit ago. We'll see what he has to say and I'll post his answer here.

I don't know this for a fact, but I suspect that to have Leroy do it would cost more than the knife is worth to me. Thanks though, for the suggestion.

I sent in an old Camillus made one that a friend had given me years before with a broken main blade. I asked for a repair as this one does have sentimental value to me. I dont know where they came up with an old Cami blade but they did repair mine with a full long pull blade. I am truly gratefull that Buck was able to bring this knife back to user status.

That's impressive. I'd never considered it until now, whether Buck would support or repair the old, Camillus-made 300 series knives. Says a lot o' good about the company.

Joe say they won't fit. They made the new ones thinner so they wouldn't have to make the knives thicker when they went to three springs.:(
