Will the popular Chinese Kershaw's ever get steel options?

Wishful thinking on my part but...

I fell in love with the Thermite the first time I saw the G10 side then I learned its a steel R.I.L., I would have ordered it right then if it was anything but 8Cr13MoV, I have more knives in it than any other steel but I just don't care for it anymore. I know its economical but I also know there's a large group of people that would gladly pay more for a better steel in all the popular Chinese kershaw's. The Thermite and Cryo 1 & 2 would be the ones I'd really like to see.

Is there a big enough demand for a full production option or even a limited run? What would we most likely see if it were to happen: 154CM, 14c28n(sandvik), AUS-8, others?

Their popularity is based on the low price. Better steel costs more so I doubt you'll see it. Even Spyderco stays with 8cr13mov on the Chinese made Tenacious.

I have a feeling that importing foreign steel into China is a no no. If it's anything like the car industry they would require the steel maker to start up a new joint company in partnership with the government. They they would require them to turn over the ip in the process of making the steel and then it would get made in country by the joint venture.

Otherwise I think the import fees and taxes would make it impossible.
