Will the shop swap my handles?

Hi all,

I have a skinny ASH w/ tan canvas mags. I love the knife, but I REALLY dislike the tan canvas. Does anyone know if the shop will swap 'em out for black canvas mags? I know the Busse crew would be the ones to ask, but I'll bet they are super busy right now. They haven't got around to answering my message yet. So, in the meantime, I was hoping that someone around here could satisfy my curiosity. I really like black canvas, and a new set of slabs would really enhance my enjoyment of the skinny ASH. Sage and black canvas is where it's at!

I need to send in a bunch of knives to get re-coated..

Hmmmm, I wonder what coating I would have Garth put on the knives... :cool:
 
I love tan canvas. I wish my black canvas mag handled Ash1cg had tan canvas handles.
 
How much does Busse typically charge for a refurbishment? For example; simply putting new coat + sharpening?

I'm guessing it depends on the knife, but would it be over a hundred dollars for an average small - mid size Busse?

I'm just trying to get an idea of what this service costs, so any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thinking about new slabs on a knife, one side of the existing shifted just enough to be annoying. Hard edge of the micarta hangs over the smallest amount but enough to notice.
I don't want to bother anyone at the shop, they sound a little busy and I would have to made the decision of what new ones to put on.... Wonder if the new tree bark will be available? :D

People do not usualy post prices, but I can't believe it would cost that much for scales and an edge touch=up.

IMHO sounds like warranty work + plus an upcharge for the new scales. The only answer that you will get here from the Shop is that you should email them.

But sometimes the awnser does.;)
 
I was just looking for a rough number / ballpark figure. I don't know why anyone would have an issue posting prices, I mean it's a service a lot of us become interested in at some point or another, and unless Busse has a sliding scale for price based on how much they like you or something I don't see any reason to hide it.

I just don't want to be shocked or have unreasonable expectations if/when I contact Busse for the service.

I actually really wish Busse kept this sort of info posted clearly on their website. Would take a lot of the mystery out of the process.
