I just received the worksharp field guide, I can return, will this work for the knife or should I just buy the precision adjust worksharp

They both will work. Just two different ways to sharpen a knife. The field guide is a useful little sharpener that can go with you anywhere and put a good edge on your knife. If you want to sit down and take a little more time and maybe be a little more refined the precision adjust would work just fine also.
