In an another of ongoing posts about Blade 2005, here is my next question:

Are there any "deals" at blade?

Do vendors run show specials?

Am I better off just window shopping at blade, and then making my purchases from an online vendor?

I really like buying from local brick & morter stores, but the truth is that the only place in town that sells up-scales knives wants retail+. And they arn't all that knowlegable or even friendly. As an example, they sell a Kershaw Rainbow Leek for $115.

Dude, you live about half the distance to Blade than I do. Go to the Blade show! I guarantee you will not regret it. :)

That's an interesting question and one I'd like to know the answer to as well. My primary interest is swords and there's no such thing as a "deal" on those. At least not the custom or production stuff I'm interested in. The makers charge what they charge and that's that. (As a side note if you are interested in swords the blade show is the BEST place in the south east to go to look at the different vendors.

However, lately I've become more interested in small knives (this place is rubbing off on me) and I too am wondering if you can pick good stuff up on the cheap there. In this case I'm talking mostly about mid to low end production stuff.

It do0esn't matter what kind of knife you like, you will find something at Blade that you will want, at a price that seems reasonable.

If you want the best deal bring cash $$$$$$. It always works wonders.
